You will need a heart preset shape. If you don't already have one, you can download one that I have prepared for you.

Preset heart

Open a new image 400 X 400 Transparent.

Activate your shape tool. In your color palette, set your stoke to Null and your fill to red. Draw a heart on your image.

Apply the effect that want on your heart. The Inner Bevel settings that I used are below.

Make a new layer. In you color palette, change the fill color to a color of your choice.

Draw a small heart on the RIGHT side of your image. The blue heart below is slightly magnified to show the placement.

Apply Inner Bevel. I used the same settings but decreased the width to 7.

Apply Drop Shadow with the following settings.

Your heart should look something like this.

Make a new layer, add a new heart remembering to place the small heart only on the right. Inner Bevel, drop shadow.

Repeat until you have about 5 small hearts, each on one its own layer.

Save your image.

Open Animation Shop.

Click File > Preferences > General Program Preferences.

Click on the Layered Files Tab and adjust your settings as shown below and click OK.

File > Open. Open your image.

You should have each heart on a separate layer.

Click on Frame 2, the first small heart.

Click Effects > Insert Image Effects.

Select the Stretch effect with the settings adjusted to the image below, click ok.

**HINT** If the animation doesn't move the way you want it to, you can use your mover tool to move your heart before applying the effect.

If you use your mover tool, be sure to activate the arrow (furthest to the left on the tool bar) before continuing. You may notice that one or more of your hearts is NOT pasting at all. Refer to your original, undo, use the mover tool and place the heart more toward the center of the image and apply the effect again.

Your animation will have the proper frames highlighted at this time. Press CTRL + X to cut. Press CTRL + V to paste as a new animation. You should have an animation with 11 frames that contains only the first heart.

Activate your original animation. Click on frame 2 again. This will be the next small heart. Apply the same effect.

CTRL + X to cut.

Activate your new animation. Press CTRL + A to select all. Make sure the slider bar is all the way to the left so that the first frame is visible.

Press CTRL + E to paste the next heart onto your animation.

Your animation should look something like this. Preview your animation to be sure that the 2 hearts move the way you want them to. If they don't, undo the paste and paste again, remembering to keep them on the right side of the animation.

Repeat this process for the next heart

When you have all of your heart placed where you want them, your animation should look something like this.

Press CTRL + A to select all. CTRL + C to copy. CTRL + V to paste as a new animation. You should now have 2 identical animations on your screen. Refer to the new animation. Select all, CTRL + M to Mirror.

CTRL + C to copy. Refer to your first animation with your small hearts (the one above). CTRL + A to select all. CTRL + E to paste. Place the pasted hearts on the LEFT side of your animation. When you have the placement where you want them, it should look like this.

Activate your animation that contains your large red heart. There should only be one frame left. Please duplicate your frame until you have 11 frames. Your large heart and your small hearts need to have the same number of frames.

Refer to your small hearts animation. Select all, copy

Refer to your large heart animation. Select all, CTRL + E to paste your small hearts onto your large heart. When the placement is correct, Select all. Right click and select Frame Properties from the drop down menu. The default number here is 10. Change it to 25 and click OK.

Right click again. Select Animation Properties. Check Opaque and select the color that you would like for the animation background

Press SHIFT + S to bring up the resize window. Resize by at least 60%.

Save your image. You're done.
