This is a lengthy tutorial. Grab the arrows and move them around your screen
to help you keep your place.

 

The lines with also show you where one step ands and the next begins.


Make a new transparent image 299 X 355.

Fill your image with the pattern that you have chosen for your image.
In your layer palette, duplicate your layer FIVE time for a total of SIX identical layers.

Turn the top layer OFF. make the next layer active.


Use your selection tool set to rectangle. feather =0.
Make a small rectangle in the center of your image.

Apply Xenofex2 > Rip Open

Use the Factory default settings, click OK.
DO NOT DESELECT.


With your selection still active, turn OFF the layer that you just applied the plug in to and make the next layer down active.
Using the existing selection as a guide, Make a bigger rectangle as shown below.
Apply the same Rip open effect.


Turn the layer that you just applied the effect to OFF and make the next layer active.
Using the existing selection as a guide make bigger rectangle selection.
Continue this process on each layer until you get to the bottom layer.
On the bottom layer, rather than making a selection, just select all.
When you have applied the plug in to all layers (except the top layer),
Turn ON all layers and save in psp format.
If you are using PSP 8 or later, click the options button in the save window
Make sure your image is  PSP 7 compatible.


Open Animation Shop.
Click File Preferences > General Program Preferences > Layered Files.
Use the settings shown below. Click OK.
Open your image.


Currently the animation is running backwards. Select all (CTRL + A)
Reverse frames.

Click on the last frame. right click and select Duplicate Selected.
Click on the last frame again and duplicate selected.
Your animation should have 8 frames.
Minimize this image as we will use it in just a short while.


Open your stressed out tube.
Your image will have four frames as shown below (without the text).

Click on the Body. Right click and duplicate selected.
Repeat for the eye backs.

 

Click on the eye frame, CTRL + X to cut.
Make the left body frame active. Paste into selected (CTRL + E) the eyes so they are on the left side of the eye holes.
Select the right body frame. Paste the eyes again but this time on the right side of the eye holes.


Click on one of the body frames.
Press and hold CTRL and click on the other body frame.
Make sure BOTH body frames are selected, CTRL + X to cut.
Click on one of the eye back frames to select it.
press and hold the CTRL key and select the other eye back frame.
Paste into selected. Place the bodies so the transparent eye holes are over the eye backs.


Click on the fingers frame. CTRL + X to cut.
Paste as a new animation (CTRL + V). Set aside.
Back to your stressed out image.
Select all (CTRL + A), copy.
Click on the last frame.
Edit > paste > after current
Select all again, copy.
Click on the last frame.
Edit > paste > after current.
You should have 8 frames now.


Open the rip image that you set aside earlier.
Select all, copy (CTRL + C)
Go back to your stressed out image.
Select all.
Paste into selected. Be careful to line the 2 images up. No transparency on the edges.


Lets look at frames 2, 3, and 4.
These are the only three frames that the hole is small enough to paste hands onto.
In frame 5, the hole is big enough to see his hands inside the rip..


If your frame 5 is smaller then mine, you will want to include that frame as well.
Make the hands active (you set them aside earlier). click on one of the frames and delete.
Use the crop tool.
Make a small square around only the left hand.
Double click to apply the crop.
Select the arrow tool.
Copy


On your stressed out image, click on frame 2.
Paste into selected and place the left hand just where the rip begins.
Click on frame 3
Paste into selected and place the left hand where the rip begins.
Repeat for frame 4 (and for frame 5 if your images needs it.)


Make your hand image active, undo so both hands are back on the image.
Use the crop tool again and this time select the right hand.
Double click to apply the crop.
Select the arrow tool. COPY.
Go back to frames 2, 3 and 4 (and 5 if your images needs it)
Paste into selected, pasting the other hand on the other side of the rip.

These three frames should look something like this


Select all (CTRL + A)
Press your ALT and ENTER
or right click and select frame properties.
Set the animation speed to 30.


Click on the last frame.
Press and hold your CTRL key and click on the two preceding frames
Now the last THREE frames are selected.
Set the speed of these frames to 70.


Select all.
Click Animation > Animation Properties.
Or right click and select Animation properties.

Select Opaque and select a color that will compliment your image.

That's it. you're done. You can resize if you like.
All that's left to do is save.
