Animated Ring

Open a new 400 X 400 transparent image.

Click the arrow next to the preset shape tool, select ellipse. In the top toolbar, in the "mode" section, select circle.
Set the line size to 15.
In your color palette, set the foreground to the pattern of your choice, the background to NULL.


Make a very small circle on your image. This will serve as a marker only.
Copy, press your delete key, paste as a new layer.
This will insure that your marker is centered.


In your layer palette, you have 2 layers, the bottom layer is blank. Activate the bottom layer.
Make another circle appx the size shown below, it can be a bit smaller if you like, but not by much.
Make sure to leave plenty of room on all sides for the effect in animation shop.
Copy, delete and paste as a new layer.


With your mover tool. click on your ring. Press your DOWN key until the ring touches the marker without overlapping.


Delete all layers except the ring layer. Apply any, effect such as inner bevel, that you like with the exception of Drop Shadow
Animation shop does not like shadows.

Save your image in psp format and close. Open animation shop and open your image.


Click Effects > Insert Image effect

Select the ROTATE effect with the following settings. Click on Customize.

Here are the customize settings.

Click OK to return to the effects window.
Click ok again to apply the effect.


Select all (CTRL + A).
Click File > Export > to Paint Shop Pro.
Your image should look like this.

Make a new layer and name it "pole"
Place the pole layer on the top of the layer palette.

With your selection tool set to rectangle. make a selection the FULL width of your image,
The height is exactly the height of the hole in the middle.


Fill your select with the color of your choice,
**HINI** with your flood tool active, raise the tolerance to 200 for it to fill correctly.
Apply any effect, except Drop Shadow, that you like.
Move the pole layer to the bottom.
Deselect.
With your selection tool, still set to rectangle, select the right 1/2 of the pole.
Make sure that the selection starts in the center of the hole, as shown below.
If your selection is floating, defloat.


Click on each layer, one at a time and press delete.
Your image should look like this.


Save in psp format and close.
 


Return to animation shop and close the image that you have open.
Click File > Preferences > General Program Preferences > Layered Files.
Be sure that "Each frame shows first and current" is checked and click ok.


Open the image that you just saved in PSP. Click on frame 1 and press delete.
Double click on your crop tool. Click on Surround Opaque. Click OK. Click Crop.
That's it. You're done. Resize if you like and save.
