copyrighted.
Open a new transparent image 500 X 500.

Fill with a dark colored pattern.

Lower the opacity of your image to 50%.
Merge flatten

Promote background layer.

Make a new layer.
Use your selection tool set to ellipse and make an ellipse on your
image. Flood with the same pattern.

Selections > Modify > Contract > 10.
Press delete and deselect

Inner bevel using the bevel settings of your
choice. I used Round.


With the ellipse layer still active, copy, delete,
paste as a new layer.
In your layer palette, delete the blank layer.

With your magic wand tool, select the center of
the ellipse.
Selections > Invert.
Save this selection to alpha channel.

Deselect.
Once you have saved your selection to alpha, deselect and merge
visible layers.
Add a new layer.
Add all of the stuff that you would like to add, like lamps, etc. Be
careful not to crowd it to much. It will be easier
if each of your items is on a separate layer.

Make the top layer active, make a new layer. Flood
with light grey.

Lower the opacity of this layer to 50%.


In your layer palette, turn off the top and bottom
layers and merge visible,
This will place your decorative items on the same layer. Make
a duplicate of your decorative items layer.

Turn all layers back on.
In your layer palette, turn off the top 2 layers.
With your mover tool, click on the decorative items layer. Press
your left arrow key
to slide this layer to the left slightly.
When you turn your other decorative items layer back on, it should
look like the image below.

Turn all layers back on.
In your layer palette, make the top decorative
items layer active and move it to the top of the palette.
Make the grey layer active and merge down.
You should have 3 layers, as shown below.

Make the middle layer active.
Load your selection from alpha, press delete.

Selections > Invert.
Effects > illumination effects > sunburst.
Use the Rays upper left setting.
Use your mouse to reposition the + so it is just in the inside of
the mirror.

Deselect.
Add a border of 10 (this will automatically
flatten your image)
select the border with your magic wand tool.
Fill with the same pattern that you used earlier, bevel with the
same settings.
Save in jpg format and you're done.
