Animated Marble Wall

This is a long tutorial, please allow a minute or
two for loading time.

Needed tools:
Xenofex2 and Eye
Candy 4000
Flaming Pear
Flood
A vine tube
HINT to get a vine tube, go to
http://www.google.com and type in
PSP tubes vines.

Open an image 500 X 400 transparent.
Flood white
Apply Xenofex2 > Little Fluffy Clouds.


Rename your layer sky.
Make a new layer names marble. Flood white.
Apply Eye candy 4000 > Marble. You can choose the
setting that you like best. I recommend one with small veins.


Use your selection tool set to circle.
In the upper left corner, make a circle appx. the
size shown below. Be sure that you keep it 1/2 inch from the top and
the left edge.

Change the shape of your selection tool to
rectangle. Hold your SHIFT key down. Place your mouse on the widest
part of the circle on the left side. Draw a rectangle that is exactly
as wide as the circle, as shown below.


Release your shift key. Your selection should look
like the one below.


Press your delete key. Your sky should be visible
through your selection.
DO NOT DESELECT
Activate your mover tool.
Use your RIGHT mouse button and move the
selection to the right to make your next window.
When you have the second window positioned
correctly, Press delete and move the selection over to make your next
window.


Make as many windows as you can. If your windows are
not centered, use your crop tool to crop off part of the right side of
your image to make the windows centered.


Make a duplicate of your marble layer.

Activate your MIDDLE layer, the original marble, not
the copy.
Press SHIFT + B on your keyboard to bring up the
brightness/contrast window. Lower the brightness to -83.
You will not see any change at this point.


In your layer palette, turn OFF the Copy of marble
layer.
Use your mover tool and move the Marble (not the
copy) down and to the right as shown below. You should have appx. 1/2
inch border on both the top and right side.


Turn the Copy of marble back on. Your windows now
have depth.
Use your mover tool and grab the dark marble layer
and move it around to redefine the amount of depth in your windows.


Activate your top layer. make a new layer called
vines.
Here is the vine that I will be using. You can use
one that you have or download one from Google.com.

Place vines on your image.

With each placement of a vine, use your deformation
tool to resize and rotate so that it looks right on your wall.

If you plan on animating the sky, turn OFF the sky
layer, merge visible.
If you do not plan on animating, leave all layers on
and merge visible.
Lets make some steps.
Use your selection tool, set to rectangle.
Select a small section of your image UNDER the
windows, This section should be about 3/4 inch long and the full width
of your image.
CTRL + C to copy. CTRL + V to paste as a new image,
Deselect. Select a section under the windows as shown below.
SHIFT + B to bring up the brightness window again,
The settings should be where you left then, just click ok.

Deselect.

Activate the image that you set aside. Copy
Activate your marble wall, paste as a new layer
(CTRL + L)
Use your deformation tool. There are
three adjustments.
1. hold your SHIFT key down. Grab the node (the
small square) along the bottom edge, not the corner.
Slide it to the right slightly.

2. Release your shift key. You will see where the
bottom left corner is showing the layer under it,
Grab the node along the left edge and drag it to the
left until the lower left corner no longer shows the layer under it.

3. Grab the node on the bottom edge (the same node
as in step 1) and push UP slightly.

Apply your deformation. Copy.

Paste one or more steps and VIOLA, you have steps.
HINT You can place your steps anywhere you
want them.
The image below shows the darkened part of the
images showing above the top step
The image under that shows that the top step covers
the top of the darkened area.




Apply Flaming pear Flood to make a ripple effect at
the bottom.


To animate the ripple effect, In your layer palette,
make three copies of your layer. Activate the top layer.
Select the area that has been flooded. Copy and
Paste as a new image (CTRL + V) DO NOT DESELECT.

With the copy still active, apply Eye candy 4000 >
Jiggle to the copy using the Subtle bubble setting.

COPY
Activate your marble image and paste into selection.
DO NOT DESELECT
In your layer palette, turn OFF the top layer and
activate the middle layer.
Activate the copy, click your UNDO button.
Reapply the jiggle effect but click the random seed button before
clicking ok.
Copy

Activate your marble wall image. Paste into
selection.
In your layer palette, Turn OFF the middle
layer and activate the bottom layer.
Activate your copy image, undo the jiggle effect and
reapply clicking on the random seed button before clicking ok.
Copy

Activate the Marble wall image paste into
selection.
NOW YOU CAN DESELECT.
Turn ON all layers

Save in PSP format.
Open Animation Shop
File > Preferences > General Program Preferences >
Layered Files
Be sure that Keep layers as separate frames is
checked and click ok.
Open your image.
Select all (CTRL + A)
Right click and select Frame properties. Change the
speed to 20 and click ok.
Resize to your liking and save.
