BLINDS

 

Open your Scenery image.
If your image is misted, merge flat, then promote back to layer

 

Add a new layer
Set you Foreground to white, and your background to dark grey.
Set the foreground to foreground - background gradient

On your blank layer make a rectangle selection the size of one blind.
Fill with your gradient and select none

Make a new layer.
Set your foreground to black.
Use your pen tool, set to make a straight line, width 2.
One one side of the blind, make a small line about 3/4 the length of the blind.

Duplicate this layer and mirror.

Turn off your bottom layer and merge visible, Turn the bottom layer back on.

In your layer palette, duplicate this layer 2 times for a total of 3 blind layers.
Turn OFF the second and third blind layers, so only the top blind layer is on.

Make the top layer active.

Use your copies plug-in.

Here are the settings

1. Click reset

2. Change the shift mode to Line

3. Set the shift X to 0

4. Set the Shift Y to 100

5. On the top line (the number line) increase the number of blinds until your image is covered with blinds.
**NOTE** Don't use more than you need, Increase the number one at a time until it's covered.
Click ok.

Your image will look like this.

Copy Merged (CTRL + SHIFT + C)
Paste as a NEW image. This will be your finished image when we are done.

Back to your original image

Delete the top layer.
Turn ON the next blind layer.

Use your deformation tool. PSP 12 calls it the "PICK" tool
or press the letter D on your keyboard.

Grab the bottom node (square) and push up SLIGHTLY so it is
 about 3/4 the original length.

Select a different tool to apply the deformation.
Apply copies again.
DO NOT CHANGE ANY SETTINGS
Just click OK.

Copy merged.
Make your finished image active. Paste as a new LAYER (CTRL + L)

Back to your original layer.
Delete your top layer.
Turn on your last blind layer.

Deformation but this time about 1/3 the original length.

Apply the deformation,
Apply your copies plugin, again not changing any settings.

Paste as a new layer on your finished image.

Still on your finished image, Make the middle layer active.
Duplicate this layer.
Move the duplicate to the top.

Save in psp format.

Open Animation Shop

Click File > preferences > General Program Preferences

Click the layered Files Tab and make sure "Keep layers as separate frames" is checked. Click OK

Open your image that you just saved in PSP.

click on frame 1. Click animation > frame preferences (or press ALT + ENTER)
and set the speed to 150

Repeat for frame 3.
Frames 2 and 4 remain at 10.

 

That's it. Time to save and you're done :-)
