Animated book for PSP 8
Open a new image 400 X 400 transparent Use your draw tool with the settings below.
In your color palette, select the pattern that you would like to use
for your foreground. Hold your CTRL key down as you draw a line slightly less than half the width of your image. Release your CTRL key Hold your CTRL key again and add 2 nodes in the places shown in the image below.
Right click on each node and change the node type to Symmetric.
Grab the node on the left and push it up slightly. Grab the node on the right and pull it down slightly.
In your layer palette, right click on your layer and convert to raster layer.
Duplicate your layer.
In your layer palette, merge visible.
Make a new layer. Duplicate and mirror. You may have to use your mover tool to place the mirrored line into the correct position as we have not centered the image yet.
Make a new layer Make a straight line that connects the top left to the top right.
In your layer palette, duplicate.
Use your mover tool to position the duplicated line correctly.
Apply any Inner bevel effect you like Now its time to center your book. Use your crop tool.
There will be a box around your image Image > Canvas size Set the size to 400 X 400 Click the bottom arrow as shown below.
Your book frame should now be centered along the bottom of your image.
Use your magic wand tool and click on the inside of your book frame.
Selections > Modify > Contract > 2 Apply Drop shadow with the settings below.
Repeat two more times. DO NOT DESELECT.
Place your mouse so that the first number of your coordinates is 200
The second number is not important as long as your mouse is above your book frame. Use your selection tool set to rectangle. Hold your CTRL key. it is important that you are holding your CTRL key BEFORE making a selection Select the LEFT side of your book. This will eliminate the left side from the selection.
Make a new layer named page. Flood with the same light solid color and deselect Add any tube you like as a new layer.
In your layer palette, duplicate your tube layer. Move one of the tube layers above the book.
Click on each tube layer and merge down.
Right click on the book layer as well and merge down so that you have only 2 layers. One is the book and one is the page.
Duplicate the page layer. Use your deformation tool Hold your CTRL + SHIFT keys down. This will enable you to SKEW the page Grab the node along the right side (not the corner) Push in and up slightly as shown below.
Apply your deformation.
Continue duplicating and skewing until your pages look like the
pages below. Save your image in PSP format and open Animation shop. File > Preferences > General Program Preferences > Layered Files Get your preferences as shown below.
You will have a very weird looking animation right now but it's about to get weirder. Select all (CTRL + A) Hold your CTRL key down and click on the first
frame (the book without the pages) copy (CTRL + C) Paste as a new animation (CTRL + V) In the New animation, select all. Activate the original animation. Paste > After Current Selected. You can now close the new animation (the one with just the pages) as we are done with that. Select all and export to psp.
Set your Flood fill tool to the settings shown below.
Use your mover tool and click on each page on the LEFT side of the book. Here are the steps for each page on the left side. 1. Select all 2. Float 3. Flood with the same solid color 4. Deselect.
When you are done with all of the pages on the left, your book
should look like this.
Save your image in PSP format and close it. Back to animation shop Set your preferences to the the image shown below.
Open the image that you just saved in PSP. All that's left to do is crop and save. Click View > Animation to see what your book looks like animated. VOILA.
If the pages are moving too fast for your liking, Select all. Right
click and select Frame Properties. The default number there is 10.
