Making your own animated alphabet
All of the text and images on this tutorial are copyrighted. Have a peek at the link below to see what "copyright" means. There are many ways to make an animated alphabet. This one is the easiest and is on a beginner level. Open a new image 800 X 800 transparent.
Activate your text tool and choose your font and color. Place the whole alphabet on your image. Be sure to make spaces between each letter and each row so you have lots of room to work with.
Duplicate your layer about 3 times depending on the effect that you want.
Apply an effect to each layer with slight differences. I am using Super Blade Pro and changing the light direction on each layer. When you have applied an effect to each layer, duplicate your image 25 times so you have a total of 26 images on your screen.
Use your crop tool and crop the first image so that only the letter A is on your image.
Save as a.psp.
Continue this process with each letter.
Open Animation Shop. Click File > Open Select all of the images that you just made in Paint Shop Pro. Go through each one, one at a time, and change the speed to what works best with your alphabet and save each one in .gif format.
Here is my alphabet.
For the alphabet below, I used varying degrees of Eye Candy 4000 > Melt To use an effect like this, you must use your selection tool and select the first row of letters
To get an even effect for all of the letters.
There are also programs out there that are either free or very inexpensive that can very easily and quickly make an alphabet for you. You can make one letter at a time or animate a whole word. The program that I used to make the stuff below is called COOL3D
